I’m responsible for the business aspects of the office. Usually I’ll be dealing with accounts payable and receivable, payroll, insurance matters, or whatever else needs getting done around the office. I quite enjoy accounting but especially love getting to know our wonderful patients. I’ve been working for Drs. Szabo since 1991, but have been at this office since 1985; we say I came with the building!
In my off time I enjoy reading, going to the beach, dancing, and shopping. I met my husband Tony in college when he played basketball and I was a cheerleader. I ‘m a member of St. Mathew’s Church and the genealogy leader at St. Joseph Co. 4-H.
I schedule and confirm appointments, collect payments, and assist the doctors during procedures. I joined the practice in 2013, which makes me the newest team member. I graduated from Indiana University South Bend in 2003 as a certified dental assistant with expanded function capabilities and am also licensed as an X-ray technician. I’m happy I have the opportunity to work with such a caring team and that I get to interact with and assist so many different people throughout the day.
In 2015 I will be celebrating my 40th wedding anniversary! I have one adult daughter, who is a dental hygienist, and one seven-year-old granddaughter. I love pets and traveling, especially when it’s a cruise.
It’s my aim to help patients realize their goal of having a healthy mouth and smile. I clean patients’ teeth, take X-rays, place sealants and provide education on oral health. I’ve been working here since 1992 and everyone here plays an important part in our team. I have an degree in Dental Hygiene from Indiana University South Bend and have been in the field since 1982.
I’m a lifelong resident of the Michiana area. I have two grown sons, a dog named Wrigley, and a cat named Jack.
Along with performing general cleanings and providing our patients with information on good oral hygiene, I assist the doctor as needed and keep our patients comfortable throughout their appointment. I really enjoy seeing a patient who has poor dental health turn it all around after coming to our office. I’ve been working as a hygienist since 1971 and joined the team here in 1997.
At home, I’m married to my husband Roy and have five children. My kids have given us nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In my spare time I like gardening, camping, fishing, and going to drag races. I’m also a Colts and University of Michigan football fan!
I work with the dentists and the rest of the team to provide full dental care. My focus and specialty is the screening, prevention, and treatment of oral disease. Seeing my work translate into better health for our patients is very rewarding. I love getting to know the patients that I treat and keeping in touch with them over the years.
Away from work I have three boys who are all very involved in sports and extra curricular activities: Jarrod, Austin, and Aaron. Our family has a dog and several cats. I enjoy reading, gardening, and spending time with my family.
I perform dental cleanings, oral cancer screenings, and take radiographs, and help prevent decay by applying fluoride and placing sealants. I also educate our patients by giving them instructions on proper oral hygiene. My favorite part of working in the dental field is knowing that I’m providing a valuable health care service while at the same time, I get to build lasting relationships with patients.
I grew up in Metro Detroit and married my high school sweetheart, John in 1992. We have three children: Aubrey, Brynn, and Claire. We attend many sports and school activities with our kids, which really keeps us on our toes.
My role as a dental assistant allows me to work directly with patients during many of their procedures. I graduated from the dental assisting program at Indiana University at South Bend in 1989 and became a part of Szabo Family Dentistry in 1995. These past 20 years have been such a blessing. In addition to building some really great relationships with our patients, I’ve also been part of a team that is truly like my second family. We’ve all been here a long time, and I can’t imagine working with a better group of people.
I am a lifelong resident of Mishawaka, graduating from Marian High School in 1987. I have been married to my husband Vic for 18 years, and we have three children named Luke, Alex, and Lainey. I enjoy reading, walking outdoors, going to my children's sporting events, and spending time with my family.
My duties at the office include assisting the doctor, taking X-rays, ensuring our patients are comfortable, and performing lab work. I love making people smile again and the relationships I form with patients makes coming to work worth it! We’ve all worked together for a long time so we feel like family and really enjoy each other’s company. I started my career in dentistry in 2002 after graduating from the dental program at Indiana University South Bend.
